Sanrakshak: Breaking the Silence

Educating Young Minds about Menstruation


A design-led initiative to normalize period conversations for girls aged 8–12 in urban slums and small towns of Madhya Pradesh.

Intent of Project

Challenges Identified

Menstruation is still surrounded by taboos, fear, and lack of awareness, especially among girls at menarche (their first period).

  • Little to no prior education.

  • Stigma within families.

  • Poor hygiene practices due to misinformation.

  • Limited access to menstrual products.
